Recommit to our Veterans

Vermont has always risen to our country's call to duty, and for too long our Federal government has  neglected the needs of our veterans. As Governor, Deb will remain committed to care for Veterans of our Armed Services and she will make sure that today's citizen-soldiers, members of our National Guard, receive the respect, appreciation and the services they have earned.

The most recent call-ups have been especially hard on families in Vermont. This troop deployment is the largest since World War II. Deb recognized the sacrifices and challenges facing Vermont's military families and  created “Service for Service,” an educational program that engages students in service projects that assist Guard families. Hundreds of students have participated and raising funds and providing volunteer services to Guard families.

As our service men and women return from Iraq and Afghanistan, Deb knows that they and their families need a Governor to advocate for them so that they will receive the support and benefits they have earned.
